transverse lifting beams

SIEGERT transverse lifting beamsTransverse lifting beams are used to transport square loads which are attached at four points using cables and chains. The load should always be picked up vertically. with the centre of gravity exactly beneath the suspension point.
Variants:
The type QTR consists of a torsionally rigid longitudinal beam with two transverse beams with fixed spacing. Two fixed eye hooks are provided at the ends of the transverse beams.
The type QTV is of the same design as the type QTR, but in this case the transverse beams can be adjusted on the longitudinal beam. In addition, the hooks are fixed to the transverse beam on bails and are thus adjustable.
The “low-level QTV” variant can be used where there is limited headroom. It does, however, require the centre of gravity to be determined very accurately if the load is to be transported safely.
The frame spreader is often used where the precise centre of gravity cannot easily be determined and the necessary lifting height is available. The spreader consists of a fixed frame with a hook at each corner.
